Dahlgren Claims Bronze in the Final Day of SEC Championship

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 22/RV University of Missouri men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams finished in sixth and eleventh places, respectively at  SEC Championships in College Station, Texas. The men’s team has 725.5 points, while the women’s has 418.

In the women’s 1650 Free senior Macy Rink recorded a time of 16:51.79 placing 34th. On the men’s side freshman Ben Louis recorded a time of 15:31.42 placing 28th. 

In the women’s 200 back finals, the solo finalist Mereidth Reese placed 15th in a time of 1:54.54 also earning an B cut with this time. 

In the men’s 200 back finals Sam Brown finished 15th with a time of 1:43.01 earning himself a B cut. Clement Secchi had the best time in the consolation final of 1:40.34. Jack Dahlgren won bronze with a time of 1:39.80 earning his second medal this weekend. 

In the women’s 100 free finals, Sierra Smith finished 24th with a time of 49.68. While in the consolation final Molly Gowans finished third placing 11th overall with a time of 48.60 earning a B cut. 

 In the men’s 100 free finals, the solo finalist Grant Bochenski  placed 19th in a time of 42.90 also earning an B cut with this time.

 In the women’s 200 breast finals, Malin Gross finished first in the consolation final placing ninth overall with a time of 2:09.32. While Kathrina Brathwaite finished second in the consolation final placing 10th overall with a time of 2:09.62. 

In the men’s 200 breast finals, Freddie Rindshoej finished 20th with a time of 1:56.82, while WIll Goodwin finished 10th with a time of 1:54.87 both earning a B cut. Ben Patton finished seventh with a time of 1:53.35 earning a B cut as well. 

Senior Carlo Lopez finished the platform in seventh place with a score of 315.95.
