Cross Country Set for Gans Creek Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Cross Country will compete in the fifth annual Gans Creek Classic Friday morning.

The men’s 8k will start at 9 a.m., with the women’s 6k to follow subsequently at 9:45 a.m.

Missouri will welcome 24 competitors to the Gans Creek Cross Country Course for the competition.

2022 All-SEC Freshman performer Drew Rogers will headline Missouri’s men’s entrants. Rogers claimed first at the Mizzou XC Opener at the beginning of the month.

Rogers finished second among Missouri competitors and 22nd overall in the race a season ago with a time of 24:14.8.

Blake Morris and Ryder James will also compete in the classic, Morris tailed Rogers to finish second in the opener while James took fourth in the first race of his second-year campaign.

On the women’s side, Lydia Roller returns to the course after leading all participants across the line in the opener. Jenna Schwartz and Mikayla Reed will also be in action after taking second and third, respectively in the first race of the year.

Isabelle Christiansen, the Tigers’ top women’s finisher who placed 24th overall a season ago with a time of 21:00.7 will also compete on Friday.
