Cougars Wrap Up Action at Kansas City NAIA Softball Invite

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Columbia College softball team wrapped up action at the Spring 2024 Kansas City NAIA Softball Invite this afternoon, dropping the doubleheader.

The Cougars fell to Saint Mary of the Woods (Ind.) in game one, 4-3, and came up short against Evangel (Mo.) in game two, 15-7.

Columbia moves to 0-4 on the season.

Game One Stat Tracker:
SMWC def. CC, 4-3

  • Tasia Green brought in two RBI on one home run
  • Six Cougars recorded one hit
  • Ella Schouten added two strikeouts in 4.2 innings

Game Two Stat Tracker:
EU def. CC, 15-7

  • Emma Bruno went (2-for-4) producing two RBI on two hits
  • Wendy van Wijk knocked out one home run, gathering two RBI
  • Jazlin Gottman and Kathryn Guinn struck out two apiece in the circle

The Cougars look to pick up their first win of the season against No.17-ranked Ottawa (Kan.) in their home opener on February 21 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
