Cougars Take Down (22) MidAmerica Nazarene

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team recorded their fifth-straight win this afternoon in a 6-4 defeat over No.22 Mid-America Nazarene.
 
The Cougars improve to 13-3, while the Pioneers move to 7-8.

The Scoring:
T1 (MNU) – An RBI single scored a run for the Pioneers. (CC-0, MNU-1)
B1 (CC) – Kole Ficken singled to center field, scoring Myles Jasper. (CC-1, MNU-1)
B2 (CC) – A double from Indy Stanley produced two runs for the Cougars, giving Columbia their first lead of the ball game. (CC-3, MNU-1)
T5 (MNU) – A Pioneer double advanced to runners home. (CC-3, MNU-3)
B6 (CC) – Braden Desonia singled to right field, sending Riley Poulton home for their first run of the inning. A two-run RBI from Indy Stanley gave the Cougars their largest lead of the game. (CC-6, MNU-3)
T8 (MNU) – Mid-America Nazarene scored the final run of the contest on an RBI. (CC-6, MBU-4).
 
Individual Leaders:

  • Indy Stanley recorded five RBI’s for the Cougars
  • Braden Desonia and Riley Poulton each scored twice for Columbia
  • Braden Desonia led the Cougars with three hits
  • Kaleb Richards earned the win, while Alex Grellner got the save
