Cougars Sweep Comets on Road, Stay Perfect in AMC Play

Nevada, Mo. – The 13th-ranked Cougars of Columbia College traveled to Cottey College to take on the Comets in American Midwest Conference action. The Cougars made quick work of the Comets, rolling to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-13) clean sweep. 

The win moves the Cougars to 17-3 overall and 5-0 in AMC play, while the loss drops the Comets to 5-13 overall and 0-2 in the AMC. 

Alayna Rooks led the offensive effort for Columbia as she finished with eight kills, hitting .538%.

Allana Capella also finished with eight kills to go along with three service aces. 

Ellie Rockers contributed six kills, four assists, and four digs. 

Agatha Emanuelle chipped in five kills, while Abby Massengill totaled four kills with zero errors. 

Luisa Ferreira dished out 28 assists with six digs. 

Magdalena Bostal had a game-high 13 digs. 

The Cougars play next in the IWU Tournament in Marion, Indiana this Friday and Saturday.
