Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College men’s soccer team played host to the Bruins of Bellevue University tonight in a non-conference contest. The Cougars came into the match with a 4-1-3 record, while the Bruins were 5-4-2.

The Cougars and Bruins played a physical 90-minute match with both teams getting good looks on shots.

In the 15th-minute mark, a corner kick from Nick Brandt was headed in by Guy Baskerville to give the Cougars the early 1-0 lead.

Early in the second half, the Bruins almost leveled the score after a shot from Alvaro Maros Sanz hit the crossbar, but it was cleared by the Cougar defense.

The last twenty minutes saw Columbia dig deep on their defensive end, holding off six team shots to keep the clean sheet.

Alejandro Molto Munoz earned his third win of the season in goal.

With the win, the Cougars move to 5-1-3 on the year.
