Cougars Stay Unbeaten at Home, Hand Chargers First Loss of Season

Columbia, MO – The Columbia College Cougars stayed perfect at home as they knocked off the Chargers of Briar Cliff University tonight in their last match of the Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Classic.

After taking a 10-point lead at the half, the Cougars had to battle it out in the second half against a determined Chargers squad. As time expired, the Cougars made some key free throws to hold to claim the 81-72 win. 

The win puts Columbia to 6-1 on the season and 5-0 at home, while the Chargers moved to 8-1. 

Collin Parker was the top point scorer for the Cougars as he finished with 23 points to go along with seven rebounds, also finishing 5-5 from the charity stripe.

Harrison Vickers followed with 17 points as he went 6-9 from the field. 

Carson Parker also finished in double-digits as he totaled 11 points, going a perfect 4-4 from the field and 3-3 from the free throw line. 

Isaiah Holden was near double-digits, finishing with nine points and four assists. 

The Chargers had three players in double figure scoring, led by Matthew Stilwill with 25.
