Cougars Split Final Day of Viterbo Tournament

Volleyball vs. Indiana Wesleyan

La Crosse, Wisconsin – The Columbia College volleyball team wrapped up play today in the Viterbo Tournament with two matches against William Penn University and then the hosts, #4 Viterbo University. The Cougars swept WPU before falling to the No.4-ranked V-Hawks of Viterbo. With the split, the Cougars move to 10-2 on the season. 

Game One: CC defeated WPU, 3-0 (25-11, 25-22, 25-22)
The Cougars led the Statesmen in almost every statistical category, but they were out-blocked by WPU 4-1; CC led in kills, aces, assists, and digs. 

Ellie Rockers led the team with 14 kills to go along with 13 digs. Allana Capella followed with 10 kills. 

Alayna Rooks contributed seven kills. 

Luisa Ferreira was close to a triple-double as she finished with 33 assists, 13 digs, and six kills with zero errors. 

Defensively, Magdalena Bostal had eight digs and Clara Gower had six. 

Game Two: CC lost to #4 Viterbo, 0-3 (14-25, 22-25, 21-25)
The fourth ranked team in the nation came out fast against the Cougars and continued to play well the entire match. 

Allana Capella had a team-high 13 kills, while Sude Gundogan followed with nine of her own. 

Luisa Ferreira finished with 34 assists. 

Magdalena Bostal had a team-high 12 digs, as Aubrey Kohl (7) and Ellie Rockers (9) followed.
