Cougars Split Day Two in Alabama

Gulf Shores, Alabama – The Columbia College softball team split their final day in Alabama, finishing the weekend trip with a 1-3 record. The Cougars beat #25 Saint Xavier before falling to LSU-Alexandria. The team takes a week off before they play again at Quincy University of March 13th for a double header.

  • Ella Schouten pitched seven innings with seven K’s and zero earned runs
  • Emily King and Suzanna Shanks both had a home run
  • Suzanna Shanks had two RBI’s, while Emily King finished with one 
  • Emily King led the team with eight putouts, while Athena Wheeler followed with six

  • Abigail Pringer had a double hit 
  • Columbia out-hit LSU-Alexandria 7-4
  • Abigail Pringer and Tasia Green each had one RBI
  • Kennedy Jensen pitched all seven innings, finishing with four K’s
  • Chesney Luebbering (6), Abigail Pringer (4), and Emily King (4) all led the team in putouts
