Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College Volleyball team fell in the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Opening Round on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars end the season with a record of 30-9, while Texas Wesleyan advances to the final site in Sioux City, Iowa.

Set 1: Columbia 14 | Texas Wesleyan 25
The Rams led early and throughout the first set. The Cougars battled back to close the gap to one point on a Sidney Branson ace (8-7) before Texas Wesleyan went on a 10-1 scoring run (18-8) and continued to a first-set win.
Set 2: Columbia 25 | Texas Wesleyan 16
The Cougars came out hot, taking an early advantage at 10-5. Columbia managed a 15-4 scoring run to pull ahead, 20-9. Maintaining their lead, the rest of the set, Columbia recorded a 25-16 result.
Set. 3: Columbia 19 | Texas Wesleyan 25
The Cougars and the Rams spent the majority of the set in a back-and-forth battle. However, Texas Wesleyan led from the start and remained ahead. With a final 3-0 run, the Rams claimed the third set.
Set 4: Columbia 20 | Texas Wesleyan 25
The Rams jumped out to a 7-2 lead before CC closed within 8-7. Texas Wesleyan turned around with a 9-3 scoring run to pull ahead. Columbia answered back with their own 6-1 run to close the deficit to 18-16. After calling a timeout, Texas Wesleyan scored seven of the final 11 points to win the match.
