Cougars Roll to Victory, Score 114 Points

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Columbia College men’s basketball team recorded a 114-61 win against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.) (UHSP) this afternoon.

Columbia improves to 12-4 on the season and 3-1 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC).

The Cougars and Eutectics saw four ties midway through the first half before Columbia began to pull away. Columbia went on a 10-0 run beginning with a layup from Carson Parker, gathering a 30-19 lead. Columbia posted 54 points in the paint, holding UHSP to 18 points. Heading into the locker rooms, the Cougars held a 19 point advantage, 51-32. At the half, Collin Parker held a game-high 14 points, while Isaiah Holden also held a game-high of six rebounds and five assists.

To begin the second half, Columbia put up another 10-0 run in under two minutes, 61-32. The Cougars shot a steady 63 percent from the field in the contest, while recording a three point percentage of 44 percent. Columbia held their largest lead with 58 seconds remaining in the game, 111-58. Columbia went on to secure a dominant 114-61 advantage.

Collin Parker put up 22 points as Columbia’s leading scorer, as Harrison Vickers produced 17 of his own. Isaiah Holden went on to hold a game-high of six rebounds and six assists.

The Cougars are back in action January 18 as they take on Hannibal-LaGrange at 7:30 p.m.
