Cougars Roll Through Vikings in Early Week Matchup

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team played host to the Vikings of Missouri Valley College today in an early week matchup. Both teams scored in the first, with MVC taking the lead after scoring in the third. CC scored seven times in the fourth inning and then one in the seventh and two in the eighth to play to an 11-2 win. With the win, Columbia improved to 16-9 while the Vikings fall to 6-11.

  • Braden Desonia hit a triple
  • Tyler Renn finished with two home runs as he was three for five at the plate
  • Tyler Renn brought in four RBIs, while Indy Stanley followed with three, Braden Desonia with two, and Chase McKague and Tom McKenna with one each 
  • Brayden McGinnis led the defensive effort with 10 putouts, Riley Poulton followed with six putouts, Indy Stanley had four, and Tyler Renn had four with five assists
