Cougars Roll Past Mustangs in AMC Tournament

O’Fallon, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team competed today in their first game of the American Midwest Conference Baseball Tournament after receiving a first-round bye. The Cougars took on the Mustangs of Central Baptist College and remained perfect against CBC this season as they won their fourth contest, 8-2. The win moves Columbia forward in tournament play as they will play against top-seeded Missouri Baptist tomorrow morning at 10:00AM.

  • Braden Desonia and Cayden Nicoletto each added one home run
  • Cayden Nicoletto led the team with three RBI, while Tyler Renn and Brayden McGinnis both followed with two each
  • Bryce Taylor pitched a complete game, only allowing two runs while finishing with six strike outs
  • Seven different Cougars manged hits in the contest

Columbia will take on Missouri Baptist tomorrow in game nine of the tournament. The winner will move on to play on Friday in the championship game, while the loser will play again at 4:00 in an elimination game.
