Cougars Remain Unbeaten in AMC Play

FULTON, Mo. – The No. 6-ranked Columbia College women’s soccer team remains unbeaten in AMC action after securing a 5-0 performance over William Woods (Mo.) this evening. Columbia improves to 12-1-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference play.

Jewel Morelan scored her third goal of the season and gave the Cougars their first goal of the night 12 minutes into the contest, assisted by Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco, 1-0.

Abigail Logan-Ritz led the Cougars with two back-to-back goals coming in the 21st minute and 38th minute to extend the Columbia lead, 3-0.

Columbia outshot William Woods eight to one in the first half, while also taking eight corner kicks to none.

Coming out of the half, Claire Innes found the back of the net, generating her third goal over the last three games. Columbia had the 4-0 lead in the 46th minute.

To top it off, Isabella Govero secured a penalty shot in the 65th minute to conclude Columbia’s offensive action, 5-0.

The Cougars totaled 13 shots to the Owls seven in the contest.

Natalie Allison made four saves on the night, improving to 12-1-1.

Columbia returns to action at Central Baptist (Ark.) on October 21 for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
