Cougars Rack Up Four AMC Weekly Awards

St. Louis, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced the Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Sunday, March 20.

Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week
Haleigh Berrey

Berrey, a junior from Columbia, Mo., took second-place in the Ron Streck Invitational in Tulsa, Okla. this past week. She led the Cougars with a 79-84—163 along with 20 pars. As a team, Columbia won their first tournament of the season.
 
Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week
Noah Wilson

Wilson, a graduate student from Palmyra, Mo., tied for the first-place individual title at the Ron Streck Invitational while also leading the Cougars to a team title. Wilson led all golfers with a 4.14 par-4 score and 27 pars, shooting a 72-74—146.
 
Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week 
Charlie Werth

Werth, a freshman from Columbia, Mo., finished in second-place in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:06.51 at the CMU Open over the weekend. As a team, the Cougars finished runner-up.
 
Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Sam Markey

Markey, a freshman from Rampton, United Kingdom, was the overall champion in the javelin event 48.40m at the CMU Open.
