WICHITA, Kan. – The Columbia College bowling team opened their season this weekend at the Mid-States Championships (Tier 1), finishing 10th out of 24 teams. This was the Cougars first top-ten finish at a Tier I tournament in Columbia College bowling history. Over 20 Baker games, the Cougars averaged 174, accumulating an overall total of 8616.
Columbia took three individual spots in the top-35, as Samantha Malley took the top spot with a 25th place finish. Malley produced a 1087 across six games, while averaging 181 in tournament play.
Also placing in the top-35 was Jordyn Czerw in 29th place, notching a 1070 total, averaging 178. Kiana Hodges held down a 31st place finish, collecting an overall a 1068, which an average of 178.
Columbia’s Breanne West averaged 160, while Emma Shaner averaged 171. Rounding out the Cougars was Mallory Cross who put together an average of 143.
The Cougars are back in action at the Jayhawk Collegiate Championship on October 28-29.
