Henderson, Tenn. – The Columbia College softball team saw their season come to an end in the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round, after dropping two games to Freed-Hardeman on Wednesday.
(1) Freed-Hardeman def. (3) Columbia, 5-0
The Scoring:
- T3 (FHU): A two-run home run gave the Lady Lions an early lead (CC 0, FHU 2)
- T4 (FHU): An RBI double added to the Freed lead (CC 0, FHU 3)
- T5 (FHU): A single up the middle gave the Lady Lions another run (CC 0, FHU 4)
- T7 (FHU): FHU scored their final run on a sac fly (CC 0, FHU 5)
Inside the Box:
- Taylor Barnes, Emily King, Jacey Meyer, and Abigail Pringer accounted for the Cougars four hits.
- Mackenzie Kasarda and Avgustina Arbova reached on walks.
- Lexi Dickerson got hit with the loss after going 3.2 innings allowing three earned runs on five hits and striking out one.
- Madison Ramsey worked an inning in relief giving up a run on a couple of hits.
- Alyssa Roll went 2.1 innings in the circle allowing a hit, a run, and striking out three.

- B4 (FHU): The Lady Lions scored both runs in the fourth inning, on two RBI doubles. (CC 0, FHU 2)
Inside the Box:
- Mackenzie Kasarda, Athena Wheeler, Avgustina Arbova, and Abigail Pringer recorded hits for the Cougars.
- Columbia stranded four runners.
- Ella Schouten went 6.0 in the circle allowing two earned runs on four hits and striking out six.
- The Cougars were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and 1-6 with runners on base.
