Elgin, Illinois – The 6th-ranked Cougars of Columbia College earned a shutout win over the Eagles of Judson University today to end their non-conference schedule, marking the 10th win of the season for Columbia. This is the 12th consecutive season that the women’s soccer team has posted double-digit wins.
The Cougars controlled the offensive effort for most of the game over the Eagles as they out-shot Judson 29-8.
Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco got the scoring started for the Cougars with a goal in the 5th-minute of play.
Macie Lucas netted her first goal of the competition in the 56th-minute to give the Cougars the 2-0 lead.
Macie Lucas would score again in the 76th-minute off of an assist from Isabella Govero.
With the 3-0 lead and time expiring, Claire Innes converted off a pass from Hannah Shylanski to score the fourth goal in the 88th-minute.
Natalie Allison had three saves in the win, picking up her eighth shutout of the season.
The Cougars, now 10-1-1 on the season, will play conference games the rest of the way as they have four contests remaining in the regular season.
