Cougars Drop Road Contest to Stars in AMC Play

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College women’s basketball team dropped an American Midwest Conference road contest to the Stars of Stephens Stars today by a score of 52-60.

The Cougars played with the Stars almost the entire game, but the second quarter would be the downfall for Columbia as they were outscored 13-25 in the second quarter alone. 

Abby Backes led the way for the Cougars with 12 points, while Peyton Crowe followed with 11 points. 

Five different Columbia players each finished with five rebounds: Crowe, DeLaney Horstman, Hannah Ferguson, Mackenzie Hess, and Allison Stiers. 

DeLaney Horstman also chipped in nine points. 

The Cougars take some time off before their next contest on December 1st when they travel to Lyon College for another AMC contest against the Scots.
