Cougars Cruise to 22-Point Victory over Blue Jays

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College men’s basketball team obtained their second win of the season this evening grabbing a 77-55 victory over Westminster College (Mo.). The Cougars move to 2-0 on the season.
 
Columbia outshot the Blue Jays 48-33 percent from the field, while also bringing down 12 more rebounds. As for points in the paint, the Cougars secured 44 compared to 28 from the Blue Jays.
 
The contest began with eight quick points as Columbia produced a 6-2 advantage. Midway through the opening half, the Cougars took their largest lead of the half of 18 points. Three-straight layups from Ben Eberlin got the Blue Jays back within ten points. Heading into the locker room, the Cougars maintained a 41-25 favor.
 
Carson Parker made his presence known coming out of the half, making six-straight points within the three-minute stretch. Columbia would hold on to its margin with a 77-55 defeat over the Blue Jays.
 
Tony Burks (18), Collin Parker (12), Trendon Tisdale (11), and Carson Parker (10) each achieved a double-digit scoring margin on the night. Collin Parker led Columbia with nine rebounds, while Carson Parker brought down eight.
 
The Cougars will host Missouri Valley on Saturday, November 5 at 1:00 p.m.
