Cougars Compete at IWU Invitational

Marion, Indiana – The 13th-ranked Columbia College Cougars played twice today in the IWU Invitational hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. 

The Cougars dropped their first match against 3rd-ranked and currently undefeated IWU, 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-17).

Allana Capella led the Cougars with nine kills to go along with six digs. 

Ellie Rockers and Katerina Pappa both finished with five kills each, respectively. 

Rockers and Clara Gower each had nine digs. 

Luisa Ferreira contributed 24 assists with seven digs and three kills. 

The Cougars rallied from their earlier loss to move on and sweep their second game against the University of St. Francis, 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-15).

Allana Capella once again led the Cougars, finishing with 13 kills on a .440 hitting percentage, also picking up six digs and two service aces. 

Alayna Rooks hit double-digit kills as she finished with 11, hitting .421%.

Ellie Rockers contributed seven kills to go along with 11 digs. 

Abby Massengill was error-free with six kills on 10 attempts. 

Clara Gower collected 11 digs. 

Luisa Ferreira dished out 45 assists with six digs and three service aces.
