Conway, Arkansas – The sixth-ranked Cougars of Columbia College picked up their sixth conference win today as they rolled past the Mustangs of Central Baptist College. The win improves the Cougars to 13-1-1 overall and 6-0 in AMC play, while CBC drops to 4-8-3 overall and 2-1-2 in the AMC.
Columbia clinched its fifth consecutive AMC Regular Season title and with it, the #1-seed in the 2023 AMC Women’s Soccer Tournament.
Abigail Logan-Ritz got the scoring started for the Cougars off of a pass from Riley Porter in the 10th-minute of play.
A build up play from Emilia Zolesio Fernandez Blanco and Jewel Morelan saw Macie Lucas convert, making it to 2-0 CC.
Just before the half, a corner kick from Emilia Zolesio Fernandez Blanco found Maddy Schrader who found the back of the net.
In the 50th-minute, Macie Lucas netted her second goal of the match to give the Cougars a 4-0 lead.
Columbia outshot CBC 11-1, also picking up 10 corner kicks while CBC finished with zero.
The Cougars have one more regular season contest in that of UHSP next weekend.
