Cougars Beat Pirates in Early Week Matchup

Parkville, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team traveled to Park University to take on the Pirates in non-conference action. The Cougars have not lost to the Pirates since 2018, with last seasons win having the same score as today’s. A four-run inning early on gave Columbia the lead, to which they held through eight innings of play, finishing with a score of 11-7. The win puts Columbia at 26-12 on the season, while Park falls to 13-21.

  • CC managed seven doubles, led by Brayden McGinnis with two, as Cayden Nicoletto, Indy Stanley, Danny Ortega, Devyn Lopez, and Tyler Renn all finished with one each
  • Riley Poulton managed a triple and a home run
  • Pierce Hartmann led the pitching effort with four strike outs; Kaleb Richards and Kam Dohogne followed with two each
  • Brayden McGinnis collected three RBIs, Riley Poulton had two, and Braden Desonia had one

The Cougars return to action this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Little Rock, Arkansas for a three-game series against Central Baptist College. The series will be played at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock with Friday’s games at 12:00 and 2:30 and Saturday’s at 12:00.
