Cougars Back in Win Column After 3-0 Win Against Mustangs

Columbia, Mo. – The No. 20-ranked Columbia College men’s soccer team continued their American Midwest Conference play with a matchup against the Mustangs of Central Baptist College.
 
Midway through the first half, Nick Brandt broke through the CBC defenders and scored on a shot past the goalkeeper, putting the Cougars up 1-0.
 
The Cougars kept up the pressure in the first half as they out-shot the Mustangs, 6-0.
 
Into the second half, Columbia kept possession as they registered seven shots in the first 15-minutes, with Nick Brandt taking three of them.
 
The Cougars scored twice within five minutes with a goal from Luke Hynes and then a goal from Nedim Sarajlija, both scoring their first goals of the season. Erik Rajoy assisted on both goals.

Columbia managed three more shots as time expired, racking up their team shot count to 21; 10 on goal. 

With the win, the Cougars move to 5-3-3 overall, and 2-1 in the AMC. They return to action on Tuesday when they play host to the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange University.
