Columbia Leads the AMC, Earning Top-50 Honors in NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup Final Standings

Cleveland, Ohio – The Columbia College Athletic Department finished 36th in the final 2022-23 Learfield Directors’ Cup.
 
The Cougars were the top American Midwest Conference (AMC) in the standings with 434.50 points. Earlier this year, Columbia took home their sixth-straight AMC Presidents’ Cup.
 
Columbia has two top-15 finishes including baseball (11th place, 57 points) and softball (11th place, 57 points).
 
Indiana Tech sits afront of the NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, racking up 867.50 points, while Marian (Ind.) (853.50), Keiser (Fla.) (853.00), Indiana Wesleyan (817.25), and Southeastern (Fla.) (762.75) sit in the top-five.
 
Columbia leads the American Midwest Conference (AMC) (36th), while Missouri Baptist comes in ranking 44th.
 
Columbia has finished in the top-50 of the NAIA LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup standings in each of the last ten years, with top-25 finishes in 2016-17 (25th), 2017-18 (12th) and 2018-19 (24th).
 
Overall, 13 sports are counted in the final NAIA standings, four of which must be men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s basketball and women’s volleyball. The next highest (9 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.

The Learfield IMG Director’s Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in NAIA Championships.
