Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College softball team took their first win of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Softball Tournament against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.), 8-0 (5 inn.) on Tuesday morning.

The Scoring:
- T2 (CC): A double, hit by Skyler Kauble, produced one run for the Cougars (CC 1, UHSP 0)
- T3 (CC): The Cougars produced six runs on five hits, starting with a two-run home run from Athena Wheeler. A double from Mackenzie Kasarda also scored two runs (CC 7, UHSP 0)
- T5 (CC): A walk-off base hit from Kasarda allowed the final Columbia run to cross the plate (CC 8, UHSP 0)
Inside the Box:
- Athena Wheeler hit her 13th home run on the season, putting her within one of tying the Columbia single-season record of 14, set by Molly Carter in 2017.
- Jacey Meyer went 3-3 at the plate with one run scored.
- Mackenzie Kasarda recorded two hits on three RBIs.
- Lexi Dickerson produced her tenth win of the season in the five-inning shutout, striking out eight.
