Columbia Breaks Program Record in Cougar Classic

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College Cheer team hosted and competed in the inaugural Cougar Classic last night. The competition included both cheer and dance, with six total teams represented. 

On the dance side, Missouri Baptist took home first place in the triangular with William Penn and Missouri Valley. 
    1. Missouri Baptist – 72.27
    2. William Penn – 69.47
    3. Missouri Valley – 55.33

The Cougar dance team performed an exhibition routine in preparation for their trip to Olathe, Kansas tomorrow for the Innovative Choreography Competition. 

For cheer, the Cougars set a program record with a final score of 56.3. 

The University of Saint Mary, currently ranked fifth in the NAIA score rankings, finished first in the competition with a final score of 93.86.
