Bowling Produces Fourth Place Finish at Wildcat Challenge

Bowling Wildcat Challenge

Lawrence, Kan. – The Columbia College bowling team took home a fourth-place finish in match play this weekend at the Wildcat Challenge (Tier 2) accumulating an overall team score of 4,555. The Cougars were just 21 pins shy of third place, while averaging 172 across 16 Baker Games.
 
Columbia started their first two sets slow before taking off in match play. The Cougars qualified for fifth-place competing against Ottawa (Kan.), Peru State (Neb.), and St. Mary (Kan.). The top two teams in pod play advanced to the championship round while Columbia ended up one pin short of advancing to the finals.

Jordyn Czerw led the way for the Cougars with a 12th place individual finish producing a total of 905 across five games. Czerw averaged 181 throughout the tournament. Columbia’s Grace Kowalski averaged 178, while Breanne West averaged 168. Averi Hawkins produced an average of 174, Lindsay Tribble averaged 158, and Claire Sandstrom resulted in a 126-tournament average.
