Bowling Competes in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada – Columbia College Women’s Bowling team competed traveled to Las Vegas to compete in two tournaments over winter break, the Glen Carlson Invitational and the Collegiate Shootout. Twenty-eight of the country’s best teams went out to Las Vegas to compete in two tournaments across four straight days, a grueling venture. Both tournaments saw the team compete well, finishing ahead of four teams in the USBC top-20 power points in the two events, placing 18th in the first tournament and 17th in the second.

In the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational, the team finished 18th. It was nine individual games across two days. Jordyn Czerw was the highest finisher for the first tournament by placing 34th and averaging 183 in the 9 games. Breanne West finished 49th with a 177 average in her 9 games and Lindsay Tribble took 51st by averaging 175.

On day three, play started in the Collegiate Shoot-Out Intercollegiate Bowling Tournament where it took a final great set of Baker games to move us up one spot and into the 17th place to end the week. In the six individual games, many different players contributed to help put the team in a good spot for the second day of this tournament. Jordyn Czerw placed 28th averaging 190 for the day. Breanne West was 37th with a 186 average, and Grace Kowalski placed 50th averaging 179. Day two of the shootout saw the team bowl 16 Baker games and average 177 while shooting four 200-games, including a 222 to start the day and a 235 to help move the team up in the final set.
