Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College softball team played at home again today with another conference double header, this time against the Eutectics of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy. The Cougars combined for 27 runs through two games, while holding UHSP to just two.

  • Ella Schouten collected seven strikeouts while finishing with zero earned runs
  • Columbia racked up eight doubles: Abigail Pringer (1), Bailey Merritt (1), Cassidy Avery (1), Athena Wheeler (1), Tasia Green (1), Kylie Kinsler (1), and Chesney Luebbering (2)
  • Abigail Pringer and Chesney Luebbering both had a triple
  • Athena Wheeler added a home run
  • Chesney Luebbering (4), Athena Wheeler (3), Abigail Pringer (2), and Bailey Merritt (2) all led the team in RBIs

Game Two Stat Tracker:

  • Jazlin Gottman got the start on the mound and finished with seven strikeouts through 5.0 IP, allowing two ER
  • Sophia Angel hit a double
  • Four different Cougars hit a triple: Emily King, Jazlin Gottman, Chesney Luebbering, and Suzanna Shanks
  • Athena Wheeler hit another home run
  • Chesney Luebbering led the team with three RBIs, while Athena Wheeler followed with two

Columbia returns to action on Tuesday, April 11th, when they travel to William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. for another conference double header at 2:00 and 4:00.
