Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team saw Kole Ficken hit a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, as they defeated Missouri Valley College, 8-6.
The Cougars are now 8-2 on the season, while Missouri Valley drops to 5-4.
The Scoring:
- T1 (MVC) – The Vikings scored three in their half of the first inning, highlighted by a two-run single. (CC 0, MVC 3)
- B1 (CC) – Columbia answers back with a run on a solo blast to center from Indy Stanley. His second homer of the season (CC 1, MVC 3).
- T5 (MVC) – A solo home run increased the Vikings lead (CC 1, MVC 4)
- B5 (CC) – Columbia tied the game on a two-RBI single from Braden DeSonia and an RBI double from Devyn Lopez. (CC 4, MVC 4).
- B6 (CC) – A sacrifice fly from David Dell gave Columbia its first lead of the game (CC 5, MVC 4)
- T7 (MVC) – The Vikings regained the lead on a two-run double (CC 5, MVC 6).
- B7 (CC) – Kole Ficken hit a three-run walk-off homer (CC 8, MVC 6)
Individual Leaders:
- Devyn Lopez and Indy Stanley both had two hits.
- Kole Ficken and Stanley hit home runs.
- Ficken drove in a game-high three runs, while Braden DeSonia had two RBIs.
- Myles Jasper and Jarrett Newell had stolen bases.
- Alex Grellner picked up the win, tossing two innings.
