O’Fallon, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team powered past the eighth-ranked Spartans of Missouri Baptist University today in their second game of the American Midwest Conference Baseball Tournament. Columbia scored in seven of the nine innings played to roll to a 13-5 win.
Missouri Baptist was forced to play a “losers-out” game against Central Baptist tonight that saw the Spartans take the 14-2 win. With that win, the Cougars are set to take on the Spartans again tomorrow at 12:00 for the AMC Championship. The Cougars just need one more win to claim the tournament title, while the Spartans would need to beat Columbia twice in a row to take the title.
