Baseball Takes Over First-Place With Win Against Missouri Baptist

St. Louis, Mo. – The Columbia College Baseball team takes sole possession of first-place in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) standings with a win at Missouri Baptist.

Columbia: 33-7 (13-3 AMC)
Missouri Baptist: 17-20 (10-6 AMC)
 
Game 1: Columbia def. Missouri Baptist, 11-5
The Scoring:

  • T1 (CC): Kellen Williamson singled, scoring Braden Desonia. (CC 1, MBU 0)
  • T2 (CC): David Dell drove in Devyn Lopez with a single (CC 2, MBU 0)
  • T3 (CC): Riley Poulton singled to right field, bringing in Jarrett Newell and Williamson (CC 4, MBU 0)
  • T5 (CC): Indy Stanley scored on a ground out from Lopez (CC 5, MBU 0)
  • B5 (MBU): The Spartans scored their first run on a ground out (CC 5, MBU 1)
  • B7 (MBU): Missouri Baptist tied the game with a four-run inning (CC 5, MBU 5)
  • T8 (CC): The Cougars regained the lead with three runs in the inning, with RBIs from Poulton, David Dell, and Desonia. (CC 8, MBU 5)
  • T9 (CC): Columbia added three more runs on a bases loaded walk to Kole Ficken and a two-run error (CC 11, MBU 5)

  • Everyone with an at-bat for the Cougars had at least one hit.
  • Kellen Williamson went 3-5 with a run scored and an RBI.
  • Indy Stanley and Riley Poulton recorded multi hit games.
  • David Dell drove in four runs, while Poulton had three RBIs.
  • Bryce Taylor got the start on the mound going 6.1 innings allowing three earned runs on seven hits.
  • Kaleb Richards picked up his seventh win after tossing 2.2 innings giving up an earned run on three hits.
