Point Lookout, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team split a doubleheader against College of Ozarks on Saturday.
The Cougars are now 4-1 on the season, while Ozarks moves to 3-3.
Game 1: Columbia def. Ozarks, 8-0
The Scoring:
- T2 (CC) – The Cougars scored three times, highlighted by a Braden DeSonia single. (CC 3, CofO, 0)
- T3 (CC) – Kellen Williamson singled home Kole Ficken (CC 4, CofO 0)
- T4 (CC) – Braden DeSonia score two runs on a ground out, while Ficken doubled in Myles Jasper (CC 7, CofO 0)
- T7 (CC) – A Devin Lopez sac fly gave CC their final run of the game (CC 8, CofO 0)
Individual Leaders:
- Kole Ficken, Kellen Williamson, and David Dell had two hits each.
- Braden DeSonia drove in two runs.
- Dan Fick and Kaleb Richards combined to go all seven innings allowing just one hit, no runs and eight strikeouts.
Game 2: Columbia def. Ozarks, 8-2
The Scoring:
- B2 (CofO) – A pair of unearned runs gave the Bobcats the lead (CC 0, CofO 2)
- T4 (CC) – The Cougars tied the game up on an RBI double by Braden DeSonia. (CC 2, CofO 2)
- B4 (CofO) – Ozarks regained the lead on an RBI single (CC 2, CofO 3)
- B5 (CofO) – C of O added another run (CC 2, CofO 4)
- B6 (CofO) – A grand slam put the Bobcats up by six. (CC 2, CofO 8)
Individual Leaders:
- Braden DeSonia led the team with two hits
- DeSonia drove in two RBIs.
- DeSonia and Andrew Paten each had one double.
