Baseball Places Four to All-Tournament Team, Desonia Named MVP

St. Louis, Mo. – Following the conclusion of the 2023 American Midwest Conference (AMC) Baseball Postseason Tournament last week, the AMC has announced the inaugural AMC Baseball All-Tournament Team. 

The All-Tournament Team was selected by the eight tournament-qualifying coaches. The MVP is voted on by a selection committee made up by the AMC staff and two coaches. 

Braden Desonia was named MVP after helping the Cougars to the Tournament Title. Desonia hit .545 (6-11) with a homerun and two stolen bases.

• Scored eight runs in the tournament, had six hits included one home run against Central Baptist, fielding percentage of 1.000%

Indy Stanley

• Had five hits with four runs and seven RBI, two home runs in a single game against Missouri Baptist

Brayden McGinnis

• Seven hits with three runs and five RBI, had two home runs in semifinal against Missouri Baptist, 37 putouts through three games with only one error

Bryce Taylor

• Pitched through 9.0 innings against Central Baptist, only allowing two ER with six strike outs
