Fayette, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team was back in action today in the Show-Me Showdown, hosted by Central Methodist University.

The Cougars took on the Stars of Oklahoma City University today in game three of the tournament.

Trailing 2-0 in the sixth, Brayden McGinnis blasted a home run to deep left field, scoring Tyler Renn and Cayden Nicoletto, to take the 3-2 lead.

The Stars responded immediately in the bottom of the sixth by scoring three runs of their own to take the lead back at 5-3.

In the top of the seventh, Tyler Renn hit a solo home run to close the OCU lead to just one, 5-4.

It would not be enough though as the Stars rallied to end the game in the top of the seventh.

Pitching for the Cougars, Reece Clapp totaled eight Ks through five IP, while Pierce Hartmann finished with three Ks through one IP.

Columbia closes out play in the tournament tomorrow with a 3:00PM game against the host, Central Methodist University.
