Baseball Falls to Central Baptist to End Regular-Season

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball fell in game three against Central Baptist on Saturday afternoon.
 
Records:
Columbia: 35-10 (15-6 AMC)
Central Baptist: 25-26, (10-11 AMC)
 
Game 3: Columbia def. Central Baptist, 9-3 (7 innings)
The Scoring:

  • T1 (CBC): a double and a single scored two runs for the Mustangs (CC 0, CBC 2)
  • B1 (CC): Kellen Williamson singled home Indy Stanley. (CC 1, CBC 2)
  • T2 (CBC): Two more runs came in for the Mustangs (CC 1, CBC 4)
  • B2 (CC): The Cougars scored a run as Jarrett Newell came across on a fielder’s choice (CC 2, CBC 4)
  • T3 (CBC): Central Baptist added three runs (CC 2, CBC 7)
  • B3 (CC): Williamson added another RBI with a ground out (CC 3, CBC 7)
  • B4 (CC): Braden Desonia tripled home Kole Ficken (CC 4, CBC 7)
  • B5 (CC): Bryce Torricelli brought home Williamson on a single (CC 5, CBC 7)
  • B6 (CC): Stanley singled scoring pinch runner Myles Jasper (CC 6, CBC 7)
  • T7 (CBC): A double added to the Mustang lead (CC 6, CBC 8)
  • T8 (CBC): Another RBI double scored the Mustangs final run of the game (CC 6, CBC 9)
  • B9 (CC): Ficken singled home Stanley (CC 7, CBC 9)

 
Inside the Box:

  • Braden Desonia had a single, double, triple, and walk in the game.
  • Indy Stanley added four hits – a double, triple, and two singles.
  • Kellen Williamson went 3-5 with two RBIs and a run scored.
  • Bryce Torricelli and Kole Ficken had two hits each.

Up Next:
The Cougars will take part in the AMC postseason tournament, played at CarShield Field in O’Fallon, Mo. Columbia will play on Wednesday at 1:00 PM, with the opponent to be determined.
