Baseball Drops Game One to William Woods

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College Baseball team saw their 12-game win-streak end at the hands of William Woods on Friday night. The Owls defeated the Cougars in game one of the three-game set, 5-2.

  • T1 (WWU): The Owls scored first on an RBI single. (CC 0, WWU 1)
  • B1 (CC): Columbia tied the game on an Indy Stanley single to center. (CC 1, WWU 1)
  • T3 (WWU): William Woods added three runs in their half of the third. (CC 1, WWU 4)
  • B5 (CC): Bryce Torricelli singled to left brining home Kellen Williamson (CC 2, WWU 4)
  • T7 (WWU): The Owls scored another run on a wild pitch (CC 2, WWU 5)

  • Braden Desonia, Kellen Williamson, and Bryce Torricelli had two hits each.
  • Indy Stanley and Torricelli recorded an RBI.
  • Desonia reached base four times.
  • Kaleb Richards went 2.1 innings in relief allowing just one hit and striking out five.

Up Next:
The two teams will meet on Saturday for a doubleheader to close out the three-game series. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM. The DH will serve as a Breast Cancer Awareness game. Bracelets and t-shirts will be on sale. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink.
