Baseball Completes Series Sweep Over Central Baptist

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team wrapped up their weekend conference series against the Mustangs of Central Baptist College today. After taking games one and two yesterday, the Cougars took game three today for the series sweep. 

Columbia, now 32-10 overall and 15-0 in conference play, will play next at nationally-ranked #10 Missouri Baptist University next weekend, April 19th and 20th. 

Columbia scored first today in the bottom of the first with a single from Indy Stanley to score Cayden Nicoletto. 

Both teams scored in the third, while CBC scored in the fourth to tie the game at 2-2. 

Columbia scored four runs in the fifth off of a double from Indy Stanley and a home run from Tyler Renn. 

Leading 6-2, the Cougars tacked on two more runs in the seventh and one more in the eight to take a 9-2 lead. 

Central Baptist tried to find some offensive pressure in the ninth after scoring a single run with a home run, but it would not be enough as the Cougars garnered three quick outs to end the game.
