Bandre and Frew Join Soccer Coaching Staff

Columbia, Mo. – Columbia College Athletic Department announced the hiring of Connor Bandre and Laurie Frew as coaching additions to the Cougars men’s and women’s soccer programs.

Bandre a 2019 gradate of Westminster College (Mo.), most recently served as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Westminster (2021-23) and the head coach of Father Tolton Catholic boys soccer team (2021-23). While at Tolton, he led the team to a single season record for wins, while also accumulating the highest winning percentage in program history.

Previously, he was the graduate assistant at William Woods University (Mo.) (2020-21), a goalkeeper’s coach for the Sporting Columbia youth program (2019-20), while also coaching as an assistant at Southern Boone County High School (2018-19). Bandre currently serves as an assistant coach for Local MWPL pre-professional team AFC Columbia. 

As a two-year team captain, Bandre played four years for the Blue Jays, making the NCAA National Tournament and achieving SLIAC Tournament MVP recognition.
‘I am extremely excited to be joining the staff of a program with so much success,’ said Bandre. ‘I am looking forward to helping contribute to that success and having the opportunity to work under Coach Klein. Let’s go Cougars!’

Frew, a 2018 graduate of Columbia College, finds her way back to CC after her time as a graduate assistant coach at Baker (Kan.) (2018-19). She also served as a U13 Girls Soccer Coach for Sporting Blue Valley (2018-19) and an assistant girls soccer coach at Rock Bridge High School (2018).

During her four years for the Cougars, the two-time All-American earned American Midwest Conference (AMC) Player of the Year recognition (2015, 2017), while also notching First Team All-Conference honors (2014-17). Frew was further named a CoSIDA Academic All-American (2015-17).

‘I am very excited to be back at Columbia College and join the soccer coaching staff,’ Frew states. ‘I want to thank Coach Klein and James for the opportunity. As a coach I want to give back to my alma mater by providing student athletes with a positive experience like my own.’
