Anderson Inducted Into Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame

Lindsey Anderson

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri cross country team’s head coach Lindsey Anderson has been named to the Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame as announced by the induction committee on Friday.

Anderson joined Missouri in the offseason and immediately elevated the strength of the Tigers’ program. In her first season, she guided senior Marquette Hanson to a national championship appearance as he became the first Tiger to appear in the title race since 2019.

Under Anderson’s leadership, freshman Drew Rogers was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team.

On the women’s side, the Tigers earned a top-15 result in every race of the 2022 campaign.

At Weber State from 2003-07, Anderson was a two-time All-American in the 3000m steeplechase and the indoor 5k setting school records in the 3000m steeplechase and 10k during the outdoor season as well as in the indoor 5k.

The hall of fame inductee was the Big Sky Conference Women’s Athlete MVP twice and left her alma mater as a nine-time conference champion across multiple distance events.

In 2007, Anderson compiled one of the greatest individual seasons in program history. She became the collegiate 3000m steeplechase record holder, marking the first time a Weber State athlete won an NCAA region title. She also became the first runner in conference history to win the steeplechase, 5000m and 10,000m in the same championship event at the Big Sky Championships.

After graduating, Anderson represented Nike during the 2007-09 professional cycle, competing in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2007 World Championships (Osaka, Japan), the 2008 Olympics (Beijing) and the 2009 World Championships (Berlin, Germany). Most recently, she qualified for and competed in the 2020 Olympics Marathon Trial in Atlanta, Ga., finishing in the top 10 percent.
