AMC Releases Women’s Basketball All-Conference and Season Award Winners

Batesville, Ark. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) announced the 2021-22 Women’s Basketball All-Conference team members and the season awards following Monday night’s championship game of the AMC Tournament. 
 
Mallory Shetley was named First-Team All-Conference, Abby Backes earned Second Team All-Conference honors, and DeLaney Horstman was named All-Freshman Team. Clare Shetley secured both Second Team All-Conference and All-Defensive Team honors. Earning Third Team All-Conference honors was Mackenzie Dubbert, while Amber Wright took home the Champions of Character award.

Mallory Shetley, a 6-0 freshman from Bourbon, Mo., recorded a career-high of 23 points against Missouri Baptist while averaging 15.6 points a contest. In the 2021-22 season, she has averaged 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 46.9 percent from the field thus far.
 
Backes, a 5-5 freshman native of Tipton, Mo., achieved a career-high of 19 points versus Westminster (Mo.) this season, averaging 9.8 points per game. She also reached a career-best with six assists three times this season, along with a field goal percentage of 38.2 percent.
 
Horstman, a 6-0 freshman from Mokane, Mo., reached a career-high of 19 points against Harris-Stowe (Mo.) in the 2021-22 campaign. She averages 5.5 points per game while pulling down 3.8 rebounds per game.
 
A 6-0 senior out of Bourbon, Mo., Clare Shetley posted a career-high of 22 points versus Central
Baptist (Ark.) while also grabbing a career-best of 16 rebounds against Missouri Baptist. She
averages 9.6 points per game, along with 8.9 rebounds.
 
Dubbert, a 5-9 sophomore from Cairo, Mo., achieved a career-high of 27 points against Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.). She averages 10.7 points per game while grabbing 4.8 rebounds per game.
 
A 5-10 freshman native of Columbia, Mo., Wright was selected as the Champions of Character recipient. As a representative, the student-athlete must portray the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
