AMC Releases Men’s Basketball All-Conference and Season Award Winners

Columbia, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference announced the members of the 2022 Men’s Basketball All-Conference teams tonight following the championship of the AMC Tournament.
 
Chima Oduocha captured Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors in his first year for the Cougars. Tony Burks was named First Team All-Conference, while Collin Parker took home All-Freshman Team and Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition. The Champions of Character recipient was awarded to Noah Patrick.

Oduocha, a 6-8 senior from Chicago, Ill., recorded a career-high with the Cougars of 21 points against Central Christian College of the Bible earlier this season. He also brought down a career-best of 12 rebounds twice this season. He averages 14.5 points per game with a shooting percentage of 59.5 percent. Oduocha also brings down 7.6 rebounds per contest.

Burks, a 6-2 junior out of St. Louis, Mo., scored a career-high with 31 points against William Penn (Iowa) during the 2021-22 campaign. He averages 16 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. Burks tied his career-best with 12 rebounds against Evangel (Mo.) earlier this season. He also holds a shooting percentage of 41.1 percent.

Parker, a 6-7 freshman from Montgomery City, Mo., produced a career-high of 21 points against Baptist Bible (Mo.) during the 2021-22 season. He also recorded a career-best of 11 rebounds during their matchup versus Central Methodist (Mo.). Parker shoots 51.4 percent from the field and 44.7 from the three-point line, while averaging 10.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest.

Patrick, a 6-2 junior native of Columbia, Mo., was selected as the Champions of Character Team recipient. As a representative, the student-athlete must portray the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
