ABCA Elects Jackson as Fourth Vice President

Kerrick Jackson

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri baseball Head Coach Kerrick Jackson has been elected as the American Baseball Coaches Association’s incoming Fourth Vice President by the association’s membership, the organization announced Wednesday.

Jackson, who was named the Tigers’ head coach in June, is a 13-year continuous member of the ABCA and currently serves on the association’s Executive Committee as the Chair of the Diversity in Baseball Committee. Additionally, Jackson is a member of the association’s Lefty Gomez Award Committee and ABCA NCAA Division I Legislative Committee.

In his new role, Jackson will advance to the next higher officer position (Third Vice President, Second Vice President, First Vice President) within the association over the next several years, ultimately serving as ABCA President beginning January 2028 and running through the 2029 ABCA Convention. As Second Vice President in 2026-27, Jackson will be tasked with arranging the General Session clinic speakers for the 2027 ABCA Convention.

Jackson was nominated for the position of Fourth Vice President by the ABCA Board of Directors during the group’s June 2023 meetings in Omaha. The nomination was confirmed via online voting ballot by the ABCA membership. Jackson will assume his new position as ABCA Fourth Vice President at the conclusion of the 2024 ABCA Convention in Dallas.
