INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Columbia College bowling team took part in the prestigious Columbia Hoosier Classic this weekend finishing 44th of 66 teams. Many of the nation’s top teams competed in the event, including 34 of the top 50 teams in the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) power points rankings. The Cougars took an overall score of 7672.
On day one of the classic, Columbia had four athletes averaging over 174, while the team shot 5185. The team average of 172.8 is the fourth best in school history at a Tier I event.
Day two was a challenging day, as the Cougars managed to bowl a 165 average across 15 Baker games.
Columbia will return to action to compete in the KCAC/AMC/GPAC Conference Tournament in Overland Park, Kan. on February 24-25.
For the second time in school history, the Cougars will also make USBC Sectionals, which is the second time in school history.
