Pingeton Adds Winson Tam as Head Video Coordinator

COLUMBIA, Mo. University of Missouri Women’s Basketball head coach Robin Pingeton announced the hiring of Winson Tam as Head Video Coordinator on Wednesday.

Tam joins the Tigers following two years as a video assistant with the WNBA team Seattle Storm under the framed coach Noelle Quinn. With the organization, he was responsible for providing practice film footage and in-game video support, editing scouting film for coaches with Hudl Sportscode and Synergy Sports, breaking down actions and coverages for study. He also spent an amount of time on the court with player development coaches including Phil Handy and players such as Jewell Loyd.

During the time in Seattle, Tam finished his MBA in sport and entertainment management at Seattle University while he served as the compliance assistant for the Seattle U Athletics.

We are excited to have Winson as a part of our program,” Pingeton said. “He brings experience from the highest level of professional basketball in addition to having served with multiple colligate programs. From the interview process, it was clear he aligned with our core values and would be a tremendous addition to our family.”

Prior to his tenure with the Storm, Tam spent one year at Villanova University, where he contributed to the women’s basketball team under the head coach Denise Dillon and athletics compliance department as an intern.

A 2020 graduate of Drexel University, Tam received a bachelor’s degree in sport management while he served as a team manager for the women’s basketball team.

A native of Hong Kong, Tam played basketball for local club teams in China before moving to the Seattle area where he first served as a team manager for Shoreline CC.

Tam is trilingual, speaking English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.
