Judd Named SEC Freshman of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Women’s Basketball guard Ashton Judd has been named SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Judd averaged 16.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in a pair of wins over Mississippi State and Texas A&M.

The West Plains, Mo. native recorded a career-high 17 points to lead Missouri to a 75-52 victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Judd followed up the performance with 16 points and seven rebounds on Sunday to guide the Tigers past the Aggies in commanding fashion, 61-35.

It is the first conference honor of the career and for Judd who has had a standout start to her collegiate tenure year averaging 7.6 points and 3.0 rebounds.

An extremely efficient scoring threat, Judd shot 70.0 percent in the two contests and currently ranks second in the SEC in 3-point percentage at 45.5%.

UP NEXT
Missouri will close out the season’s road contests with a visit to Oxford, Miss. to face Ole Miss at 6 p.m. Thursday. The contest will be broadcasted on SECN+ and KTGR.
