Cougars Hire Nathan Davis As New Sports Information Coordinator & Game Day Operations Manager

Davis new hire

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Nathan Davis as the new Sports Information Coordinator & Game Day Manager. Davis comes to Columbia after spending the last year and a half at Stephens College, where he earned the AMC Sports Information Director of the year for the 2021-2022 season.

‘We are very excited to welcome Nathan to the Columbia Cougar family,’ stated Senior Deputy Director of Athletics Cindy Potter. ‘His enthusiasm and hard work ethic has been evident during his time at Stephens and I cannot wait to see what he can accomplish at CC.’

Davis served as Interim Head Coach for the Stars volleyball team during the 2021 season. Stephens had a memorable season with multiple program records broken, including the highest conference finish in program history, and six different players earning all-conference honors.

He served as the Sports Information Director, taking over the role full-time in May of 2021. Davis implemented and designed a new athletic website, a new live-stream service with BlueFrame, new graphics partnerships, and assisted in the procurement of a new partnership with Show-Me Sports Network for broadcasting of the Stars’ home events.

Before Stephens, he served as an assistant coach at Dakota State University and helped set five program records in his lone year at DSU; he most notably helped DSU to reach the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history.

Davis obtained his Masters of Sports Management from Missouri Baptist University where he served as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the men’s and women’s volleyball teams. During his time with the Spartans, the men’s team collected a record of 58-3 and reached the final four of the NAIA National Invitational twice. On the women’s side, the squad finished with a 33-6 mark and a top 10 ranking.

Nathan earned his bachelors degree from Hannibal-LaGrange University while playing volleyball for the Trojans.
