14 Tigers Earn WCGA Scholastics All-American Honors

WCGA Scholar All-Americans 2023

ITHACA, N.Y. – The University of Missouri gymnastics team saw 14 gymnasts earn WCGA Scholastic All-America honors for their achievements in the classroom during the 2022-23 academic year, announced Thursday, Aug. 17 by the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association.

Including the 2023 Mizzou gymnastics squad, there were 54 teams in the nation with a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or better. Missouri combined for a team GPA of 3.57 during the 2022-23 academic year, with 14 Tigers earning individual academic honors. In total, 1,075 gymnasts claimed the scholastic All-America honors, breaking the 1,000 plateau for the third consecutive year. 

For the Tigers, graduate student Alisa Sheremeta was recognized for the fifth time in her career, while seniors Adalayna Hufendiek and Sienna Schreiber earned the honor for the fourth time. Junior Kyra Burns, graduate student Hannah McCrary and senior Hollyn Patrick are collecting the academic accolade for the third time. Three sophomores earned their second honor in Grace Anne Davis, Jocelyn Moore and Alyssa Ojeda. Rounding out the 14 to garner the accolade were freshmen Addison Lawrence, Mackenzie Patricelli and Casey Poddig, along with Anna McGee, who has been serving in a managerial role for the team.
