COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri softball fifth-year senior Kimberly Wert was named to the SEC Community Service Team on Tuesday.
Last summer, Wert spent eight weeks working with children as a volunteer softball coach. She assisted with camps and clinics in her home state of Virginia in an effort to grow the game. One of the clinics took place at the little league field Wert played on as a child. She has also visited hospitals, served at a food bank, and spent time at the Thompson Center for Autism during her career at Mizzou.
Wert currently leads the Tigers with 16 home runs and 51 RBI and she broke the Mizzou all-time home run record earlier this season.
